Take that single moment and write it out elaborately: the thought itself, where it led, and the emotions that came with it. Follow the feeling closely and give it room on the page. An inner moment, described with care, is as real and as worth keeping as anything that happened to you.
Write about a thought, not only an event.
The material doesn’t have to be something that happened. A thought you had, a good feeling that passed through you, a quiet inner state in one particular moment — any of these is enough to write about. You don’t need an event, an achievement, or a piece of good news.
For instance
- Nothing happened today — but waiting for the kettle, I felt a quiet certainty that I am slowly building a life I like. I sat with that feeling and let it fill the kitchen.
- A memory of my grandmother’s courtyard drifted by while I was folding laundry, and a soft warmth stayed with me for an hour. That warmth is today’s entry.
